Terms and Conditions
This document sets out the general terms and conditions for using the clninstitute.pt website and for enrolling, attending, and obtaining certification in training courses, masterclasses, congresses, and other educational events promoted by CLN Institute.

The brand CLN Institute is owned by Anterior Shift, Unipessoal Lda, hereinafter referred to as "CLN Institute", "we", or "the training entity".
2.1. These terms and conditions govern the relationship between CLN Institute and the User/Trainee (hereinafter "Trainee", "client", or "user") regarding the use of the clninstitute.pt website and enrollment, attendance, and certification in face-to-face, online, blended, or mixed training courses in healthcare fields, namely physiotherapy, psychology, hair transplantation, aesthetic medicine, and related areas.
2.2. Enrollment and/or purchase of any service or product on the clninstitute.pt website implies full knowledge and acceptance of these Terms and Conditions, the Privacy Policy, and other legal documents available on the website.
2.3. CLN Institute reserves the right to change these Terms and Conditions at any time, with prior notice to enrolled trainees and publication on the website.
3.1. Enrollment in training courses promoted by CLN Institute is carried out exclusively through the clninstitute.pt website, by creating a personal account and filling in the required information.
3.2. The enrollment process comprises the following steps:
— (a) Search and selection of the desired course/event;
— (b) Adding to the shopping cart;
— (c) Completing the purchase;
— (d) Selecting the payment method;
— (e) Making the payment;
— (f) Receiving the confirmation e-mail.
3.3. Enrollment is only considered valid and definitive after:
— (a) Full or partial payment of the course fee;
— (b) Delivery of the required documentation (qualifications, professional license, where applicable);
— (c) Verification of admission criteria.
3.4. CLN Institute may refuse an enrollment whenever it considers that the candidate's qualifications do not meet the target audience defined for the training course, based on the following criteria:
— (a) Academic qualifications and professional certification;
— (b) Prior professional training;
— (c) Specific knowledge of the subject;
— (d) Relevant professional experience;
— (e) Specific access requirements for the course.
3.5. In cases of refused enrollment where payment has already been made, CLN Institute will refund the full amount paid, minus an administrative fee of €10 (ten euros) for processing expenses.
3.6. Places are limited to the number advertised on each event page, and enrollments are accepted in order of definitive validation.
4.1. The target audience for each training course is described on the respective event page and may include, among others:
— Healthcare professionals (Doctors, Nurses, Physiotherapists, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, Nutritionists, among others);
— Exercise and wellness professionals;
— Higher education students in healthcare fields;
— Other professionals, as defined in the course programme.
4.2. It is the trainee's sole responsibility to verify that they meet the necessary conditions and qualifications to attend the course for which they enroll.
5.1. Course prices are those indicated on the website at the time of enrollment, subject to obvious error, and include VAT at the applicable legal rate.
5.2. CLN Institute offers the following payment methods:
— (a) Full payment: full settlement of the amount at the time of enrollment;
— (b) Installment payment: settlement of the amount in installments, according to the plan agreed upon at the time of enrollment.
5.3. Payment can be made by: bank transfer.
5.4. The invoice is issued automatically at the time of purchase completion, using the tax details provided by the trainee, who is responsible for correctly entering this information. Any subsequent correction requiring a change to the invoice may incur an administrative fee of €7.50 (seven euros and fifty cents).
5.5. Installment payment obligates the trainee to pay the full agreed amount, even in the event of withdrawal after the legal withdrawal period.
6.1. Under Decree-Law No. 24/2014 of 14 February (transposing Directive 2011/83/EU), applicable to distance contracts, the trainee has the right to freely rescind the contract without giving any reason within 14 (fourteen) calendar days from the date of conclusion of the contract (purchase/enrollment date).
6.2. The withdrawal notice must be made in writing to info@clninstitute.pt.
6.3. Exceptions to the right of free resolution, under the law, include:
— (a) Provision of services that have begun with the consumer's prior express consent and acknowledgment that they lose the right of free resolution;
— (b) Supply of digital content not supplied on a tangible medium, where performance has begun with the consumer's prior express consent.
6.4. After the legal withdrawal period, the cancellation conditions set out in the following clause apply.
7.1. Withdrawal initiated by the trainee
7.1.1. If the withdrawal request is made 30 (thirty) days or more before the event start date, CLN Institute will refund 70% (seventy percent) of the amount paid, retaining 30% as a withdrawal fee and administrative expenses.
7.1.2. If the withdrawal request is made less than 30 (thirty) days but at least 15 (fifteen) days before the event start date, CLN Institute will refund 50% (fifty percent) of the amount paid.
7.1.3. If the withdrawal request is made less than 15 (fifteen) days before the event start date, no refund will be made and the amount paid will be retained by CLN Institute.
7.1.4. As an alternative to a refund, the trainee may choose to convert the amount paid (minus an administrative fee of €10) into credit for future use in another CLN Institute training course, valid for 12 (twelve) months from the date of withdrawal.
7.1.5. After the training has started, abandonment or withdrawal will not give rise to any refund, in whole or in part.
7.2. Cancellation by CLN Institute
7.2.1. CLN Institute reserves the right to cancel any training course that does not meet the minimum number of enrollments stipulated.
7.2.2. In the event of cancellation due to insufficient enrollments, the trainee will be contacted and may choose:
— (a) Transfer of enrollment to the next edition of the same course;
— (b) Transfer of enrollment to another available course;
— (c) Full refund of the amount paid.
7.2.3. CLN Institute also reserves the right to cancel, postpone, or alter any event due to force majeure, including: adverse weather conditions; epidemics, pandemics, or public health restrictions; strikes or service stoppages; decisions by public or governmental authorities; any other cause beyond the reasonable control of CLN Institute.
7.2.4. In the event of cancellation due to force majeure, CLN Institute undertakes to reschedule the training to the nearest possible date, with no refund of the amount paid nor any indemnity or compensation for additional expenses (travel, accommodation, etc.), unless the trainee communicates their inability to attend the new date, in which case they may transfer the enrollment to a later edition of the same course.
7.3. General Provisions
7.3.1. A €10 (ten euros) administrative fee will be deducted from any refund, except when the cancellation is attributable to CLN Institute.
7.3.2. The time limits set out in this clause are continuous and not suspended on Saturdays, Sundays, or public holidays.
8.1. Training courses take place at the locations, dates, and times advertised on the website and confirmed to the trainee by e-mail.
8.2. CLN Institute may change trainers, location, or schedule, provided this does not compromise the pedagogical objectives of the course, and undertakes to communicate changes as far in advance as possible.
8.3. The syllabus may be adjusted by the trainer whenever this aims to improve the quality of the programme, without prior notice.
8.4. The teaching materials provided are the responsibility of the trainer regarding copyright and intellectual property, and may not be reproduced, disclosed, or transferred to third parties without authorisation.
8.5. In face-to-face courses with a practical component, the trainee must attend at least 80% (eighty percent) of the total hours to be eligible for a certificate.
8.6. In synchronous online courses, the trainee must ensure:
— (a) Access to a computer with a stable internet connection;
— (b) A device with a functioning camera and microphone;
— (c) An up-to-date browser.
8.7. Failure to meet the technical requirements necessary for attending online courses is the sole responsibility of the trainee and may result in the non-issuance of the certificate.
9.1. Many of the training courses promoted by CLN Institute include a practical component for demonstrating and performing therapeutic techniques.
9.2. The trainee's participation in practical demonstrations, particularly those involving body manipulation, physical contact, or therapeutic interventions, is voluntary, and the trainee may refuse to participate without any penalty, provided this does not compromise the training objectives.
9.3. The trainee undertakes to:
— (a) Inform the trainer in advance of any health conditions, injuries, contraindications, or limitations that may affect their participation;
— (b) Obtain all clarifications they deem necessary before participating in any practical activity;
— (c) Comply with applicable hygiene and safety rules, using the personal protective equipment provided.
9.4. By enrolling, the trainee declares they are fully aware of the risks inherent in practical activities and assumes them under their sole and exclusive responsibility.
9.5. CLN Institute is not liable for acts performed by trainees in the exercise of their professional activity after attending the training courses, and each professional is responsible for respecting the limits of their professional qualifications and applicable ethical standards.
10.1. Upon completion of the training course, a Professional Training Certificate will be issued in digital format, in accordance with applicable legislation.
10.2. The issuance of the certificate depends on:
— (a) Minimum attendance of 80% (or the percentage defined for the specific event);
— (b) Achievement, where applicable, according to the defined assessment methodology;
— (c) Completion of the training evaluation questionnaire.
10.3. The certificate may be refused if the qualification information provided is found to be false or if the trainee has not met the attendance and/or assessment requirements.
10.4. Issuance of a duplicate certificate costs €10 (ten euros).
10.5. The training courses promoted by CLN Institute are aimed at acquiring and improving knowledge and do not replace the curriculum for access to a regulated profession nor confer any professional title or category.
11.1. CLN Institute may capture image, video, and sound during events for promotional, educational, and dissemination purposes on its communication channels and social networks.
11.2. If the trainee does not consent to the use of their image and/or voice, they must notify CLN Institute in writing at info@clninstitute.pt before the start of the event.
11.3. Trainees are not permitted to take photographic, video, or audio recordings of the sessions, except with the express authorisation of the trainer.
11.4. When authorised, recordings are for personal use only and may not be used for commercial purposes or publicly disclosed without proper identification of the context.
12.1. All content on the clninstitute.pt website, including but not limited to text, images, logos, videos, and software, is the property of CLN Institute or its partners and is protected by copyright and intellectual property legislation.
12.2. Teaching materials, presentations, manuals, and other content provided during the training courses may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, or transferred to third parties without the express authorisation of CLN Institute and/or the trainer.
13.1. CLN Institute, as the data controller, is committed to protecting the privacy of its trainees' personal data, in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) — Regulation (EU) 2016/679 — and Portuguese Law No. 58/2019 of 8 August.
13.2. The personal data collected (name, e-mail, telephone, address, tax ID, qualifications, professional license, among others) is used exclusively for:
— (a) Managing the enrollment and registration process;
— (b) Pedagogical and administrative management of the training;
— (c) Issuing certificates and invoices;
— (d) Complying with legal obligations;
— (e) Communicating information about training courses and events (with consent).
13.3. Personal data will be retained for the period necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, respecting legal retention periods.
13.4. The trainee may, at any time, exercise their rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and portability of their data by written communication to info@clninstitute.pt.
13.5. CLN Institute will not share personal data with third parties, except when necessary to comply with legal or contractual obligations (including partner certification entities) and always with the data subject's consent.
13.6. For more information, please consult the Privacy Policy available on the clninstitute.pt website.
The trainee's obligations include:
— (a) Paying the price under the agreed terms and deadlines;
— (b) Attending the training with punctuality and regularity;
— (c) Participating actively and diligently in the sessions;
— (d) Treating trainers, colleagues, and other participants with respect and courtesy;
— (e) Ensuring the conservation of facilities and equipment;
— (f) Keeping their personal data up to date in the website's customer area;
— (g) Timely communicating any health conditions relevant to participation in the practical component;
— (h) Complying with established conduct, hygiene, and safety rules;
— (i) Not engaging in any act that may cause harm or discredit to CLN Institute.
The trainee's rights include:
— (a) Participating in the training and receiving instruction in accordance with the advertised programme;
— (b) Receiving the available documentation and supporting materials;
— (c) Receiving the Professional Training Certificate under the conditions provided;
— (d) Being treated with respect and dignity;
— (e) Having the confidentiality of their personal data protected;
— (f) Submitting suggestions, complaints, or praise through the available channels.
16.1. The trainee may submit suggestions, complaints, or claims via e-mail to info@clninstitute.pt or through the Electronic Complaints Book (Livro de Reclamações Eletrónico), available at www.livroreclamacoes.pt.
16.2. CLN Institute undertakes to respond to any complaint within a maximum of 15 (fifteen) working days from the date of receipt.
17.1. In the event of a consumer dispute, the client may resort to an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) entity, pursuant to Law No. 144/2015 of 8 September.

18.1. If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
18.2. These Terms and Conditions are governed by Portuguese law.
18.3. For any matters not covered by these Terms and Conditions, the applicable legal provisions shall apply, namely the Civil Code, Decree-Law No. 24/2014 (distance contracts), and Ordinance No. 474/2010 (professional training certification).
18.4. CLN Institute reserves the right to change, modify, or update these Terms and Conditions at any time, with changes being publicised on the clninstitute.pt website.
